SETBACK (N.Y.H.C.) 2009

I’m gonna be honest, I don’t think there’s enough anger in hardcore these days, which is why I put this post together.  Yet another veteran hardcore band is back with some new shit.  This time it’s SETBACK (N.Y.H.C.) with their first release in 12 years,  ‘UNFINISHED BUSINESS.’  It contains 7 brand ‘new’ old school tracks that we’re just gonna classify as good ol’ beatdown music.

Hailing from Queens, New York, SETBACK formed in the early 90′s, but it wasn’t until 97′ that they actually released their first EP, ‘NO HOPE.’  With a heavy dose of anger and hate that permeated every brutal track they put out, SETBACK was the perfect fit for all the wild shit that was going down in hardcore at the time. Unfortunately, the outfit disbanded soon after the release due to personal matters.

If going to a good fun show for you is all about getting in touch with your inner juggernaut of volatility, then without a doubt catch SETBACK at one of their upcoming New York area shows they got booked through this July.  But don’t get stupid and catch a bad one if your fuckin’ around like a retod.  Respect the ‘scene’ and have fun.
