Ruby Day of RubysDiary.com
August 5, 2009

Ruby: RubysDiary.com is a diary of my sexual life. It’s my girlfriends, boyfriends, bedmate, couples, and one night stands. We laugh a lot and cum a lot, it’s the way sex should be. It’s not your American mainstream porn. It’s honest, opinionated, and unabashed. It is the true photo, video, and written diary of my life. I love sharing my life and I know you will love being apart of it.
SL: How are things going with the site right now? How much shooting are you doing for it?
Ruby: There is always something going on in my world and rarely is there a dull moment. The site is doing great and shooting is never ending. Any day or moment I have available I’m either in front of the camera performing and directing or behind the camera shooting. At the current time I have been keeping pretty busy between life, my submissives, and my slave. At any given moment there is tending to the website, Domination, discipline in order, new training, and even a bit of enjoying the fruits of life. I like to keep myself occupied. That’s how I keep myself from getting into to much trouble.
SL: What was going on in your life prior to taking the leap of faith into the world of erotica?
Ruby: It wasn’t much different than most people. I went to university and graduated with a BA in International Business, Economics and Finance with minors in Art and French. After graduation I took a job working corporate as a business analyst for a telecom company. I was miserable, I didn’t fit into the corporate world so I left and went to work for higher education dealing with federal grants for a sign language interpreter-training department. I loved the job but knew it wasn’t what I wanted to do with the rest of my life so I picked up and moved to Texas having no job and knowing no one I was determined to find a way to survive without returning to corporate. I was managing bands on the side spending half my time on the road touring with opening acts, shooting photography, and doing sound engineering. The other half of the time I was booking bands and producing albums when I was home. It was during this time that I took the opportunity to do some soul searching and when the searching had reached a point of clarity sexual expression/experimentation was on the top of the list.
SL: Were you always really in-tune with your sexual side growing up?
Ruby: Most definitely! I’ve been this way from day one, it’s just the way I was made. At the age of 13, I began studying human sexuality. The sexual aspect of human nature fascinated me. By the time I turned 16, I was full throttle into physically exploring my own sexuality but I thought “What’s the fun in stopping there?” So during my exploration I ended up finding myself pursuing sexual expression in almost every aspect of my life and that’s how RubysDiary.com came about.
SL: You started nude modeling in 2004 correct? How much time did you spend doing that before the inception of ‘Ruby’s Diary’ came about?
Ruby: I’ve been nude modeling off and on for several years before 2004. I was nude posing for artists long before a camera came into the picture. It was in 2004 that I did my first topless centerfold magazine shoot with a local photographer. From that point on my love affair with the camera began.
SL: When did you come to the realization that you needed to pursue a career in this department?
Ruby: My entire life has directed me to this path but it wasn’t until after college and working in corporate America that I took my interest seriously.
SL: You were nominated for a 2009 Web Starlet of the Year award which came to be a surprise when you found out.
Ruby: At the point that I found out about my nomination for ‘Web Starlet of the Year’ my website hadn’t even finished it’s second year of being up and live. So when the e-mail came through telling me I had been nominated it was certainly a surprise and an honor to be put amongst girls who have been performing for 8 plus years.
SL: You must have been thrown under the scope to some degree.
Ruby: Well yeah, it’s a big deal to be nominated by the industry so things haven’t exactly been quite the same since then.
SL: How much of your life is consumed by the site?
Ruby: When you’re doing something that you love and have a passion for it, then it becomes a daily part of your life.
SL: Do you find that your personal life completely mesh’s with the professional/ business aspect of what you’re doing?
Ruby: What I share on my site IS my personal life. So the two aspects of personal and professional have learned to work hand in hand.
SL: Have you had thoughts about pursuing work on a mainstream level regarding some of the bigger adult production companies?
Ruby: I am always willing to work with other productions on projects of interest.
SL: Are there any ideas or fantasies that you want to experiment with or areas that you haven’t pushed yourself further with up til now?
Ruby: Whatever my mood strikes that sounds good at that moment I’m game to try, that’s why my life is my fantasy. I find it has been a matter of having enough of the right people and a budget big enough to create the ideas because a lack of imagination is not the obstacle.
SL: What would you really like to accomplish this year when speaking of growth not only with the site but also for yourself as a performer?
Ruby: Like a parent does for a child, you always have aspirations of grander. The important thing is maintaining internal growth and being true to who I am. Growth as a performer is a never-ending discipline. There is always room for development and improvement. When the day comes that I don’t have anything further to push myself with or improve on then that will most certainly be a sad day indeed. Hopefully that isn’t in the cards for me.
