Nikki Delano is Brooklyn’s Finest!

Nikki Delano is about to celebrate her first full year in the adult business, and, as far as she’s concerned, it’s been a very good year (with much more smutty goodness to come!). This strawberry-blond firecracker has been heating up screens and monitors like a seasoned vet with her bombshell body and dynamic appetite. She’s been racking up the scenes at an amazing pace. She’s shot for just about everybody: Digital Playground, Wicked, Brazzers (including a stellar installment of the phenomenal series Pornstar Punishment), Bang Bros., Reality Kings, Naughty America… the list goes on, and includes a starring role as Shakira in a XXX parody of El Gordo y La Flaca as well as a part in the XXX version of American Dad. This one-time Bank of America employee is a Brooklyn girl gone west who (luckily for us) left the 9-5 world in favor of pursuing a more fulfilling career in porn. SmutLife recently caught up with this part-Puerto Rican, part-Colombian, part-Italian hottie on her way back from Vegas.

SL: As we speak, you’re getting your car repaired. How bad was the accident?

ND: I was driving back from Vegas, from the AVNs and all that stuff, and I was following someone and I hit the intersection and hit, like, the ledge; so the tire popped, the rim cracked and the hubcap broke in half! It was night time, and thank God I had someone with me to help me change the tire! I would have been sitting there for the rest of the night!

SL: But you’re OK, right?

ND: Yes, it was just a little scary. And it was a rental car, too!

SL: You were coming back from the AVNs?

ND: Yes, I was coming back from The AE Expo and The AVN Awards. It was so crazy. I didn’t expect the huge turnout. It was at the Hard Rock Café and it was insane! I was there for Friday and Saturday; I was at four different booths: I was at T.I.T.S. (Two In The Shirt)’s booth because I have my own T-shirt from them. I was there from open to close both days.

SL: So you were working it.

ND: I was working it, and my feet… oh my God!

SL: Did you win any awards?

ND: I did not. The only thing I was nominated for was a parody, and it didn’t win, but there’s always next year.

SL: Can you give us a little insight behind the scenes at these shows? What’s it like?

ND: For me, personally, I don’t party that much. I’ll go to a party that my agency’s hosting, that’s about it. I’m usually there for 10 hours or so, and then have to be right back at it first thing in the morning. It’s all work for me. Even the parties are work. They’re a lot of fun, but it’s still work. You have to be professional. It’s intense. People may think it’s so easy; the lifestyle is so easy and nothing but parties, but it’s not. It’s pretty hard. I love doing the conventions, they’re really fun. The only thing I don’t like about them is how much my feet hurt afterwards!
SL: So you’re not the “party all night” type?

ND: Not really. I’m kind of like a tomboy: I love playing sports. I’m always in sweats, sneakers, tank-tops… I like to keep active. I don’t really party that much. People think I’m so different because they see me on camera, but I’m so different than that. I am very low-key and quiet; very laid back. Now, don’t get me wrong: when I do go out I have a real good time…

SL: How long have you been doing this?

ND: February 7th will be my one year anniversary. I was an office manager for Bank of America before I started doing Adult. I have a degree as well. I was modeling and a scout from Brazzers contacted me. I always wanted to do porn, but I had no idea how to get into it. I went and tried it, and here I am a year later!

SL: You kind of jumped into it with both feet, going right for the hardcore stuff.

ND: I did some hardcore stuff, but not really full-on hardcore. There’s stuff that’s a lot more intense than what I do. I do the basic girl/girl, boy/girl, solo stuff. I don’t do DPs; I don’t do gangbangs, so there’s stuff that’s more hardcore than what I’ve done.

SL: Your Pornstar Punishment scene was pretty hardcore…

ND: You know, it looks more hardcore on video. In person the guy was pretty gentle and it wasn’t as crazy as it looks. When it comes to that type of scene it’s more acting than anything else. I played a character. It was intense, but it wasn’t like he hurt me or anything.

SL: Afterwards you said that you’ve done more intense stuff in your personal life.

ND: Yeah. It’s funny; those scenes are usually anal, but I don’t do anal.

SL: Now that you’ve gotten a year under your belt; what have you learned from working in this industry?

ND: I had a misconception as to how this industry worked when I first started. For the men; they really have to be mentally prepared to shoot. And for the women, porn is not all about having sex. There’s so much that goes into it. You have to worry about the angles, most of the time you’re really uncomfortable having sex on camera because you have to hit certain positions for the camera. It’s not that easy to do. There are some long days, too. Feature days: you’re looking at a 12 hour day. It’s not just going in and having sex. You have to act, you have to learn a script, you have to put on a show… you have to really put your heart into it.

SL: Do you get back to Brooklyn often?

ND: My family, all my closest friends are in New York. It’s hard for me: sometimes I get real homesick, but I always find myself going back for a weekend or a couple of days. Just to get rid of that homesick feeling.

SL: What have you been working on; where can we see you in the future?

ND: A lot of feature-dancing; next month I’ll be in Connecticut at Mystique dancing 5 shows with Brittany Amber. And then March 3-4 I’ll be in Arizona at the Pornstar Ball, which is another convention. I just did El Gordo y La Flaca where I played Shakira. El Gordo y La Flaca, which means “fat guy; skinny woman.” It’s a Spanish soap opera. I actually did the choreography as Shakira for that one. I’m also going to be in a movie called Hollow Point, which is a mainstream movie. It’s a horror film and it starts production next month. You can always find me at my website: www.nikkidelano.com.
