Capri Cavalli making moves in 2010

Words & Interview by: Steve DiLodovico
Capri Cavalli is one of the hottest up and comers in the industry right now. One peep at her work for Brazzers or Naughty America confirms the scorching utter hotness of this Canadian vixen. She is adventurous, enthusiastic, seductive and charmingly bubbly at times, yet still incredibly sultry. Recently I had the pleasure of speaking with Ms. Cavalli about the biz, about the Olympics and her recent signing with Big Love Agency and Big Star Entertainment. She was in a very revealing mood…
So you’re from Vancouver; were you around for the Olympics?
CC: I wasn’t. I wish that I was, but I’ve been here working. I figured Vancouver was going to be kind of crazy and busy around that time, too…
Are you a hockey fan?
CC: I am somewhat a hockey fan, though, honestly not too much anymore since I’ve been out here in the States. Where I lived in Vancouver it was obviously a huge social thing. I do know quite a bit about hockey, though.
So how did you find your way into the adult industry?
CC: Ever since I was about 21 or 22 I was really interested in girls and Vancouver has a lot of beautiful girls who are also known as “ice queens.” Getting to know them is kind of hard. Also, me being a girl; I don’t really know how to pick up chicks. The idea kind of started for me from watching girl/girl porn. I started modeling as a hobby when I was 22. I eventually posed for Playboy and that was the first time I ever took my clothes off in front of a camera and I realized that I was actually quite comfortable. I was working as a manager and a Veterinary technician at an animal hospital and I wanted a way out. I knew you made a considerable amount of money doing porn and I wanted to sleep with girls, too, so it seemed perfect. I looked into it and one thing lead to another. I gave it a good 9 or 10 months thinking about it before I decided to change the job I had been doing for 6 years. I got on a plane and I came down to L.A. for a week to test the waters. I enjoyed myself so I went home, gave my notice, and now here I am.
Was it difficult for you to make that leap?
CC: Honestly? Not really. There have been a lot of changes in my life. I think, if anything, I’ve grown a lot as a person on the inside from being to this industry. Coming from a very sexually inhibited family; a very strict Catholic family where sex was never talked about, it was surprisingly easy for me. When I posed for Playboy; that gave me the initial courage to pose nude and then being in front of a camera became easy. I was always hyper-sexual, so jumping into the sex part wasn’t difficult. Sex was always a big deal to me. I didn’t lose my virginity until I was just over 18 and me and the guy had been together for 2 years before we sex. We stayed together for a couple years after that and then I met somebody else who just kind of helped to open up my eyes to how much fun sex actually is. Even after him I would only date guys who I was really, really into because I like to have sex all the time!
Any kind of negative reaction from family or friends?
CC: Once I moved down here and got started I did not want my mother finding out from anybody. I also did not want her to find out over the phone. My mom comes from a huge family with a very small-town mentality so for me to say “Hey mom guess what? I started doing porn…” The first thing she would think of would be big fat guys with missing teeth and gold chains. So, instead I bought her a plane ticket, flew her down to Los Angeles as a surprise and brought her to my apartment. The first thing she asked me was; “OK, how are you affording this?” We took my dog for a walk and I told her. She was really quiet for the first few minutes and it was kind of uncomfortable and she asked me about a half a dozen questions; all pertaining to health and safety, and she just kind of looked at me and said; “OK.” I have three sisters: two older and one younger. The two older ones don’t talk about what I do. The younger sister and I don’t really communicate a lot; there’s a pretty big age difference between us. My older sisters just pretend I don’t do it. My mom’s super cool, though. I just recently brought her to a photo shoot I was doing for my new agency (I just switched over to Big Love). She came in and there were all these magazines around and you could see her eyes getting bigger and bigger! But she was real cool; she always tried to fit in and to be empathetic and put herself in other people’s shoes. She’s a very smart woman and she is very understanding. It was good: she got meet my agent and some other porn stars. She kept asking me: “Is that girl in porn? She’s really nice!”
What’s the biggest unexpected surprise you’ve encountered in the industry?
CC: Girls putting makeup sponges up their crotch. My first week shooting I got my period and I told them: “Fuck, sorry I can’t shoot!” And they were like: “What are you talking about?” I said “Oh, I got my period.” And they looked at me like I was crazy! I said; “you want me to do what?” A girl handed me a makeup sponge and there it went and then later there I went: straight to the hospital later to get it taken out because I didn’t know how to fish them out of there!
Wow. Makes me wonder what other kind of horrible, disgusting moments you’ve had and if you’d care to share them with us?
CC: Other than getting popped in the eye, because that’s fucking gross… that’s especially bad for me because I am so prone to really bad eye infections as it is! Let’s see… I don’t do anal, so I don’t really have any fun stories about that, though I’ve heard some real nasty shit happens when people do anal… I think the grossest thing ever was probably a girl having the worst yeast infection of her life and still showing up on the set. I think that was the absolute worst that I’ve encountered. My face was not going down there…
Do you have a favorite person to work with?
CC: Honestly I don’t really have a favorite: I like a lot of different guys. I haven’t even worked with a lot of them: it seems like a lot of the talent I have worked with has been recycled.
So you’re pretty easy to work with?
CC: yeah, I am pretty easy to work with. My one thing is that I have to be into the talent so one thing I do ask my agent is to let me know a couple of days beforehand who they want to book me with. If I’m not into them physically then I just say no because, ultimately, it’s only going to give them a bad scene. Just because the man has a penis doesn’t necessarily mean I want to have sex with him!
Well, that’s all about the chemistry. A bad scene is useless to just about everybody.
CC: Yeah it’s good in the long run, even if they get annoyed in the moment. I do feel bad sometimes, though. There’s one gentleman in particular, and I won’t say his name, who was scheduled to work with me twice and I’ve had him switched out twice. And I am sure he is a great person and probably a really nice guy, but I just wasn’t into him.
As far as you’re enthusiasm: since you’ve been doing this for a couple of years now do you find that the hyper-sexuality that first got you to consider porn is still as urgent?
CC: It all depends on who I am working with. But, no, I haven’t lost interest at all. I can still be in the moment.
Do you think of yourself as a sub or a dom?
CC: Again, it depends on who I am working with. It changes a lot throughout the scene, too. The more dominant I’m allowed to be the more dominant I will be. A lot of the companies I’ve worked for it seems they don’t want me doing things like holding on to the talent’s neck or stuff like that. I like being dom; I don’t sub at all. I just can’t do it. I can do a little bit of subbing, if it’s with the right guy. It has to be with the right guy because I’m not really that comfortable with it, especially if it’s somebody I don’t know or somebody I have a bad vibe about. I can name maybe three performers that I could be a sub with…
What about how far you’ll go in a scene, any boundaries? I know you said you don’t do anal…
CC: It really depends on the company I am working for. Let’s say I’m working for a company and the movie’s a deep throat movie then I’m OK with them grabbing onto my head and face-fucking my head. If I’m working for Brazzers then no. No way.
Is that solely because of the company and what they want?
CC: Exactly. Because that’s not what they’re paying me for. They set the guidelines. Like Naughty America: in their videos there’s no spitting, no spanking, no choking. One time I put my hands around the talent’s neck and they were like: “Nope. Move your hands.” Certain companies have a lot of rules. There are certain companies where you can’t call girls names; you can’t call them a “bitch.” When you’re doing kink you’re expected to do stuff like that. When I show up to set I’m constantly asking; “OK, what do you guys want from me?”
You mentioned that you got into porn for empowerment. How is it empowering for you?
CC: The fact that when I do my cam shows I have a minimum of 500 people who watch me. Knowing that there are at least 500 people taking time out of their day to watch me… that’s empowering. Knowing that people buy memberships to my site to find out about me is empowering. If they were just interested in sex they could buy memberships at Brazzers, so when they make the effort to become members of my site, I find that very empowering. They also put you on a pedestal, like when they meet you it’s like you walked right out of a TV screen. To me, that’s empowerment. Whether it’s a superficial empowerment, whatever…
What’s one thing your fans don’t know about you that they might be surprised to find out?
CC: I knit. Probably can’t picture it, huh?
Outside of knitting, what do you do in your personal life for fun?
CC: I’m really normal: I play Guitar Hero, I fish. A lot of my time is spent at places like the hair salon, the nail salon, tanning salon. I go to the beach a lot. Whenever I have absolutely nothing to do I go straight to the beach. I take my dogs to Huntington and lie there while they play.
Favorite music?
CC: Combination depending on the mood factor: it’s either country or house music. Depends on what kind of mood I am in. House music is great for long trips; country music keeps you humble.
Have you gotten any ink yet?
CC: Yeah, I have a couple of tattoos. My lower back has my Pieces symbol, which I’m actually looking to get touched up. As a matter of fact I was just messaging my tattoo artist right now and he’s not calling me back! I have three Japanese characters on my lower stomach which are supposed to mean “love, happiness and beautiful woman” but I just found out they actually mean “love, knowledge, and beautiful woman,” which is not bad. I have a couple of other little ones, too. Tattoos mean a lot to me; they are hugely symbolic.
How can your fans find you?
CC: My Twitter page is always active: twitter.com/capri_cavalli or people can find me on Myspace at www.myspace.com/capricavalli. My website is www.clubcapricavalli.com, I am currently working on launching something for www.capricavalli.ca also.
